Stupid Human

Cats like food. That's a given. Most animals will ask for it even if they've already eaten. Moe and Tigger are no different. Tigger is our little piglet, but Moe asks (aka begs) for food also. So, it's no surprise to be in the kitchen and have a couple of begging kitties giving the "I'm a poor starving kitty" look.

When I got home from work today, without looking, I knew they had some cereal in their bowls cause I heard Moe munching. A few hours later, Jimmie gets home.

Before Dinner

I was doing some things around the house. Moe was a little underfoot. Everytime I'd passed the hallway, Moe would start walking down it and then stop and look at me as I kept walking. This happened a few times. I didn't think much of it.

This is what was really going on.

Me: (walking past hallway)
Moe: This way! Wait.... where are you going?

Me: (walk past hallway again in other direction)
Moe: Yes! Here we go!

Me: (walk down hallway past food area)
Moe: (pausing at food area) Here mama! Over here!

This continued a few times. He then gave up.

During Dinner
Moe: I'm a poor starving kitty.

Jimmie: Awww, poor Moe Moe. Give him a treat.

Me: No

King Kitty: Come on. Give him a piece of cheese.

Moe: I'm a poor starving kitty.

Me: No. That's our food. He has his own. Cheese isn't cheap.

Moe: I'm a poor starving kitty.

After Dinner
We played with the kitties for a bit and watched some tv. King Kitty decided to play on the computer, so Moe and I continued playing and watching tv.

I then decided it was time for bed and started heading down the hallway. Before I go to bed, I always check to make sure the kitties have food and water. I popped my head in the bathroom and saw that their food bowls were complete empty!

Me: Oh my gosh! Poor babies! Your bowls are empty! Moe Moe! I feel so bad! Now I understand why you kept doing what you did! You were trying to lead me over here and tell me that you were hungry and that your bowls were empty!

Moe: Duh! Stupid human.

Tigger Thinks He's Still A Baby Kitten

There are many things Tigger does that are very baby kittenish. For one thing, he has a tiny, high-pitched meow. It sounds very heart-breaking. He uses this to his advantage when he wants something... like food. (He loves food. I'll get into that later.)

He follows me around everywhere when I'm home. At times, he'll flop completely on his back, legs fully spread out with his little paws curled on either side of his head and looks in my direction. As Jimmie puts it, he looks like he's adoring me with childlike eyes asking for mommy's attention.

He especially loves to curl up on my lap while I'm sitting at the computer or sitting in bed. He always has to be in the same position and gets upset if I try to put him in a different one. He starts off by doing his little paw massaging thing on my stomach (This is not always pleasant, especially when you've just eaten a big meal. He's a heavy cat!) He then curls up on his left side and continues his massaging pawing thing on my arm, and sometimes moves his paws up to my neck and face. The whole time, he'll lean back a little and look up at me adoringly like he's in love with his mama cat. He then settles down and rests his head against my chest to take a nap.

Meet and Greet!

Tigger and Moe officially have their spot on the internet. This is where they can have their two minutes of fame.

There are so many stories to share. What better place than their own blog?

Meet Moe
Moe was rescued by a co-worker. The gentleman was on his way to work when he stopped at a gas station just off the freeway and saw this cute cat. (It was in an industrial area, and the cat was dirty and malnourished.) He gave the cat some food and took him to work that day since he was too far to go back home. He was heading out on vacation that weekend and needed someone to watch over the cat. He asked everyone at work, but no one would take the kitty. I resisted, but I finally agreed to watch him only for the weekend. I wasn't going to be the permanent home. (Yeah right.) Who couldn't fall in love with that face? I tried to resist, but his kitty powers came over me. My husband and I decided to keep him and name him Moe.

Meet Tigger
Tigger is also a rescue cat. He was born in July of 2010. (That was the same month we adopted Moe.) A co-worker (different from Moe's rescuer) nursed the kittens of a stray mother cat. Tigger was the last one who needed a home and I asked her to send me a picture of him. Again, I resisted taking another cat. (Yeah right.) Who could resist a cute kitten? He had such a stubby tail and didn't look like much, but he has turned into such a beautiful cat with soft fur, just like Moe. (He even looks a little bit like Moe.) We tossed some potential names around to see what would fit. Should we stick to a Three Stooges theme even though naming Moe had nothing to do with the Three Stooges. Larry? Curly? We decided to keep the little guy and brought him into our home late October and named him Tigger.
